Getting Started with EasyGarage

Go from sign-up to your first invoice in under 30 minutes. This guide walks you through each step.

Need help?

Every new account gets free personal setup — whether you run a workshop, a rental fleet, or a used-car yard. Email us at hello@easygarage.com.au and we'll walk you through everything personally.

  1. Sign up for your account

Head to app.easygarage.com.au/signup and enter your business name, email, and password. Your account is created instantly, along with your own subdomain (e.g. joes-garage.easygarage.com.au). The 14-day free trial starts immediately — no credit card needed.

  2. Set up your business

Go to Settings > Business Information and fill in your details: business name, address, phone number, email, and ABN. Upload your logo — it will appear on all invoices, emails, your booking page, and your public listings.

  3. Set up how you work

Configure the segment you run — you can turn on more than one from Settings > Modules.

    • Workshop — In Settings > Working Hours, set the days and times you're open and how many bays you have. This controls your calendar availability and online booking slots.
    • Rentals — Add your vehicles under Fleet, then set your rental rates, standard bond/deposit amounts, and pickup/return times so every booking starts pre-filled.
    • Dealership — List the cars you have for sale under Stock — make, model, year, price, and photos. Your stock feeds both your sales pipeline and your public listings.
  4. Add your first customer

Go to Customers and click Add Customer. Enter their name, phone, and email. Then add their vehicle — make, model, year, and rego. You can also add customers on the fly when creating a job, a booking, or a sale.

  5. Create your first job, booking, or sale

This is where the day-to-day happens. Start with whichever fits your business:

    • Workshop — Go to the Calendar and click a time slot. Select the customer and vehicle, add a service type and any notes. The job appears on your calendar and status board immediately — move it through the pipeline as work progresses: Confirmed → In Progress → Completed.
    • Rentals — Open the Bookings timeline and drag out a rental period. Pick the customer and vehicle, set the rate and bond, and confirm. Any fines or tolls that arrive later are automatically matched to whoever had the vehicle on the offence date, and return-due reminders go out on their own.
    • Dealership — Add a buyer to your Leads pipeline, book a test drive, or raise a sale against a car in Stock. Move each deal through the pipeline until it's won.
  6. Create and send an invoice

Open the completed job, rental period, or car sale and click Build Invoice. Add line items from your Price Book or type them manually — set quantities, prices, and GST. Rentals can also invoice on a recurring schedule so you don't rebuild them every week. Then click Send — your customer gets a professional PDF invoice by email, branded with your logo. See the Invoicing & Estimates guide for the full walkthrough.

  7. Set up notifications

Go to Settings > Notifications to configure automatic emails and SMS. Set up your SMTP credentials (or use our defaults), customise your email templates, and choose which notifications to send. Booking confirmations, car-ready alerts, service reminders, rental return-due and bond reminders, fine and toll notices, and test-drive confirmations can all go out automatically. See the Settings & Configuration guide for details.
